A History of Diabetes in Sheffield

Our friend Dr Jenny Stephenson will be joining us to talk about diabetes in Sheffield and the changes we've seen in the city.  Jenny is a GP with a special interest in diabetes as well as a keen local historian.

Houlden Hall is next to the Cathedral Church of St Marie on Norfolk Row, Sheffield.  The door is to the left of the church and the top buzzer is for Houlden Hall - though we usually have a greeter on the door.

Meetings are a great place for you to find out more information about diabetes, learn more about the Sheffield Group, and for you to meet other people with diabetes and benefit from their experiences.

You can find us on Norfolk Row, entry by the green door in between St Marie's Church and the Nottinghamshire Building Society, and opposite Vero Gusto.  The meetings are on the first floor (accessible by lift).  Doors are open from 7pm for refreshments and mingling before the meeting starts at 7:30pm.  We aim to finish by 9pm!

The Arundel Gate Mini Interchange is our closest bus stop (served by a number of buses, including: 2, 4, 4A, 5, 6, 6A, 10, 10A, 17A, 19, 20, 20A, 22, 25, 25A, 30, 30A, 35, 36, 37, 42, 43, 43A, 44, 44A, 51, 52, 56, 70, 72, 72A, 75, 76, 81, 82, 83, 83A, 85, 85A, 87, 88, 97, 98, 120, 123, 252, 270, 272, 715, 723, 798, A1, X7 and X17). Please check your local service for times. We're about 5 minutes away from the Interchange up past the Crucible.

The nearest Supertram stop is Castle Square.

Car Parking is available at the NCP at the Crucible (5 mins walk) or the QPark on Charles Street (also 5 minutes away).  Please note that charges apply here.
